The trendy Los Feliz community is located adjacent to Hollywood and Silver Lake. Regarded as a hip, diverse, and cohesive neighborhood, many East Coast transplants are often drawn to it because of its East Village vibe.
Los Feliz Village, long known for its fiercely independent and creative spirit, encompasses a diverse selection of businesses - from warmly familiar restaurants and services which have been steady L.A. Basin favorites for over 50 years, to cutting edge designers and hip "retro" clothing, vintage and collectibles shops.
The neighborhood has historically been home to movie stars, musicians, and the Hollywood elite. It boasts some of the best known residential architecture in the city, including two homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Ennis House and the Hollyhock House, and Richard Neutra's Lovell House.

HISTORY
The 6,647-acre Rancho Los Feliz was a land grant to Corporal José Vicente Feliz. As one of the earliest leaders and protectors of the pueblo, he received this land as a token of appreciation by the Spanish government. An old adobe house built in the 1830s by his heirs still stands on Crystal Springs Drive. The Rancho had a succession of owners, including Colonel Griffith J. Griffith, who donated over half of the rancho to the city of Los Angeles (now Griffith Park). Other sections of the Rancho were developed and became the communities of Los Feliz and Silver Lake.
